- Evaporate the filtrate by a water-bath to the consistence of a thin syrup; then add to it the green colouring matter previously separated, and stiring the whole together assiduously, continue the evaporation at a temperature not exceeding 140°, until the extract is of a suitable consistence for forming pills. -Dose. — From one to two grains

- Rub the aconitia with the oil, add the lard, and mix thoroughly.
- Take of the fresh Leaves and Flowering Tops of Aconite, one RANUNCULACE^. hundred and twelve pounds.
- Bruise in a stone mortar, and press out the juice; heat it gradually to 130° and separate the green colouring matter by a caHco filter.
- Heat the strained liquor to 200° to coagu- late the albumen, and again filter.
