• Moisten the belladonna with some of the spirit, and macerate m a closed vessel for three days ; then transfer to a percolator, and, adding more spirit, percolate slowly inxo a receiver containing the camphor, until the product measures one pint

Method as extracted

1. Take of Extract of Belladonna, Resin Plastei-, of each, three ounces ;
2. Rub the extract and spirit together in a mortar, and when the insoluble matter has subsided decant the clear solution, remove the spirit by distillation or evapo- ration and mix the alcoholic extract thus obtamed with the resin plaster melted by the heat of a water- bath, continuing the heat until with constant stirring the plaster has required a suitable consistence.
3. Take of Belladonna Root, in coarse powder, twenty ounces ;
