This is much preferable, if care- fully made, to the Lucate/lus’s bal- fam, both for internal and external ufes. ‘I'he caranna, faunders, benja- min, and dragon’s blood, are beft to be grofly powdered, and loofely tied in a coarfe rag while they are boil- ing, for they are not fo well mixed with the whole. of this, it is a moft effectual remedy in all fores both internal and exter- nal, and excellent in curing burns and bruifes ; it gives eafe in arthri- tic and nervous pains; rubbed upon the temples it relieves the head-ach ; applied to the fide or belly with hot cloths it difpels flatulencies, and gives eafe in the cholic; and taken to the quantity of 3 drams inwardly - in a glais of hot wine, itrelieves in _the gravel and ftone ; and has alfo a particular quality in deftroying worms, whether applied inwardly or outwardly.
