- Take of Hard Soap, in powder, ten ounces ;
- Boil the vinegar and oxide of lead together by the heat of a steam-bath, constantly stirring them until the oxide has combined with the acid ; then add the soap, and boil again until most of the moisture is evapo- rated ; finally, add the wax and oil melted together, and stir the whole continuously, maintaining the heat until, by the evaporation of the remaining moisture, the product has acquired the proper consistence for a plaster.
