  • SYEUPUS PEERI PHOSPHATIS — Syrup of Phosphate op Iron. — Take of granulated sulphate of iron, 224 grains; phosphate of soda, 200 grains; acetate of soda, 74 grains; diluted phosphoric acid, 54 fluid ounces ; refined sugar, 8 ounces; distilled water, 8 fluid ounces
  • Dissolve the sulphate of iron in four ounces of the water, and the phosphate and acetate of soda in the remainder ; mix the tioo solutions, and, after careful stirring, transfer the precipitate to a calico filter, and wash it with distilled water, till the filtrate ceases to be affected by cliloride of barium
  • It contains one grain of phos- 'phate of iron, SFeOjPOg, or FcgPgOs, in 1 fluid drachm
