• Ma- cerate the cinchona Lark for forty-eight hours in fifteen ounces of the spirit, in a closed vessel, agitating occasionally; then transfer to a percolator; and, when the fluid ceases to pass, continue the percolation with the remaining five ounces of spirit
• Afterwards sub- ject the contents of the percolator to pressure, filter the product, mix the liquids, and add sufiicient proof spirit to make one pint
• of Yellow Cin- chona Bark, in coarse powder, one pound
• Macerate the cinchona bark in two pints of the water, for twenty -four hours, stirring frequently; then pack in a percolator, and add more water until twelve pints have been collected, or until the water ceases to dissolve anything more
